Spur & Ackermans Launch ‘Design a Tee’ Campaign to Celebrate Young Creators

Johannesburg, South Africa (8 April 2025) – Spur, South Africa’s beloved family restaurant, has teamed up with Ackermans, the nation’s top kids' fashion retailer, to launch the exciting ‘Design a Tee’ campaign, empowering young artists to see their creativity come to life.
Spur’s iconic colouring sheets have long encouraged kids to express their creativity, while Ackermans is known for stylish and affordable children’s fashion. Now, these two brands are merging their worlds to give kids a platform to design limited-edition T-shirts showcased nationwide.
“We believe every child is a creator with extraordinary artistry to share. Through this collaboration, we’re excited to give them a space to express themselves and watch their creativity come to life,” said Vuyo Henda, Chief Marketing Officer at Spur Corp. “This initiative bridges our values as Spur and Ackermans, extending well beyond food and fashion, into inspiring the next generation of young artists.”
Open to children under 12, the campaign invites young creatives to submit their artwork, with two winning designs transformed into exclusive T-shirts showcased nationwide and available at Ackermans stores during Heritage Month in September. Each winner will win prizes valued at R50 000.

Running from 1 April to 30 April 2025, the campaign blends creativity and family time, fostering artistic expression in a fun and engaging way. Winners will be announced on 7 May 2025.
