Panarottis in Partnership with iSchoolAfrica, Launch Coding Club to Empower Young Learners

20260211_111824
Panarottis, in partnership with iSchool Africa, launched an iSchoolAfrica Coding and Robotics Club at Hlakaniphani Primary School in Soweto, aimed at equipping primary school learners with foundational digital, coding and problem-solving skills.
The programme is designed to increase access to quality digital education in under-resourced schools by introducing coding and computational thinking at an early stage. By exposing learners to practical technology learning, the programme supports digital inclusion while nurturing curiosity, creativity and confidence.
At the heart of the initiative is the iSchoolAfrica Coding and Robotics Programme, a school-based model that combines learner engagement with teacher empowerment. Educators at Hlakaniphani Primary School receive training to confidently deliver coding and robotics lessons using iPads and Apple’s Everyone Can Code curriculum.
Learners participate in hands-on, project-based learning using age-appropriate tools such as Swift Playgrounds and educational robotics. Through interactive activities, learners develop logical thinking, collaboration skills and an early understanding of how technology could be used to solve real-world problems.
For Panarottis, feeding connections goes far beyond serving great meals — it’s about nourishing our communities and creating meaningful opportunities for people to connect in every part of life. Our purpose, Feeding Connections, is deeply woven into everything we do.
“As part of this commitment, we are investing in the next generation by helping bridge the digital divide. Through our partnership with iSchoolAfrica, we fund coding and robotics programmes for children aged 7 to 12 in under resourced schools. By giving young learners the skills and confidence to navigate an increasingly digital world, we are empowering them to build brighter futures” said Cornelis Schutte, COO of Panarottis.
We invite our customers to join us on this journey by adding a top-up to their next Panarottis meal. R1 from every top-up is donated to our Panarottis Coding Futures CSI initiative.
“Our learners are excited, motivated and eager to learn,” said Mrs Nengwekhulu, Principal of Hlakaniphani Primary School. “For many of them, this is their first experience using technology in this way. I am excited to seeing our learners thrive through exposure to such world -class technology . “
