The Hussar Grill, which was acquired by Spur Corporation in January 2013, enabled the group to enter and effectively compete in the higher-LSM fine dining space. The brand currently has 16 restaurants in the Western Cape, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Saudi Arabia. Individual restaurants have managed their own procurement and now have the option of procuring through the group.
Since the acquisition, the menu was fine-tuned to focus on the quality grill room positioning of the brand, taking care to maintain the core dishes and recipes.
Having garnered a loyal following over the years, The Hussar Grill has become known for our speciality steaks, wine selection and excellent service. In addition to The Hussar Grill’s legendary beef and game, the menu also offers a selection of poultry, seafood, vegetarian as well as an assortment of desserts.
The Hussar Grill has been rated as one of South Africa’s best grill rooms in numerous awards recognising its high-quality food and service. The brand is also recognised for its selection of wines receiving the Diners Club Platinum Award for the past 11 consecutive years. Guests are also welcome to bring their own wine at no corkage, as Hussar Grill never charges corkage.

Nikos was initially established in Durban North in 2017, with a brand footprint of 8 restaurants in various areas across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town. Spur Corporation acquired the majority stake in Nikos in 2018, with the founding family members, Nicolette and Nicholas Triandafillou, along with Pano Economou.

The Doppio Collection
Spur Corporation has acquired a 60% interest in the Doppio Collection with restaurant brands Doppio Zero, Piza e Vino and Modern Tailors.
The portfolio has 37 franchised and company-owned restaurants, as well as Doppio’s bakery and central supply business. The Doppio Collection is an exciting addition to our portfolio. Doppio Collection is being acquired from founders and shareholders, Paul Christie and Miki Milovanovic who will remain the directors and continue to run the business.
The Doppio Collection will nearly double the Spur Corporation speciality portfolio, enabling the group to substantially increase its share of the speciality day-time dining market.
